Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal information TISS collects, why, who it goes to, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

The responsible party is TISS Corporation. Our Information Officer is Nkululeko Tsela, at info@tisscorporation.co.za.

What we collect

• About you: your name, email address, cellphone number, and your business's name and details.
• To build your platform: the services you sell, their prices and descriptions, your logo and your domain.
• Your order: your quotes, invoices and payment references, and the launch details you give us after paying.
• What you ask us to do: your requests, and notes of our calls and messages.
• How you use this website, if analytics is switched on: pages visited and the kind of device, through Google Analytics cookies. This doesn't identify you by name.

We never see your card or banking details, and we never ask for a password or PIN. You pay us through PayFast, which handles them. Your platform connects to your own PayFast account with the access you grant, which you can withdraw at any time.

Your customers' information

When your customers buy from your platform, we keep their details on your behalf and on your instruction: you're responsible for collecting them lawfully, and we use them only to run your platform. Their payments go from PayFast to your bank account, never through us.

Why we use it

• To build, launch and run your platform: the service you ordered.
• To reach you, including confirming it's you before we change your account or your platform's settings.
• To email you about your order: your receipt, launch updates, renewal reminders.
• To keep the invoices and records the law requires.
• To improve this website (analytics).

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it to advertise other companies' products to you.

Who it goes to

• PayFast, which takes your payments to us, and your customers' payments to you.
• The registry and registrar for your domain, which is registered at TISS: a domain's owner details must be given to them.
• Our email delivery provider, which sends the emails about your order.
• Google, for website analytics, if it's switched on.
• The company that hosts this website, your platform and our database.

Some of these companies store information outside South Africa. We only use companies bound by data protection rules at least as strong as POPIA's.

How long we keep it

Your account and order details: while you're our customer, and for 5 years after, for tax records. When a platform is closed, we give you a copy of its service and customer data if you ask within 30 days; after that it may be deleted.

Keeping it safe

Your information is only available to the people at TISS Corporation who need it to look after you. Passwords set on this website are stored scrambled (hashed), so nobody can read them, us included. We'll tell you, and the Information Regulator, if we find your information has been accessed without permission.

Your rights

You can ask us, free of charge, to:

• tell you what personal information we have about you, and give you a copy;
• correct it, or delete what we no longer need;
• stop using it for anything other than the service you ordered.

Email our Information Officer at info@tisscorporation.co.za. We'll confirm it's you on the number or email we have for you, and answer within 30 days.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
